What is IKAMET?
IKAMET — plastic card that confirms a residence permit in Turkey. Ikamet can be issued for period of 6 months to 2 years. Registration of Ikamet for 6 months gives homeowners the right to enter and leave the country without restrictions.
In 2015 the procedure for obtaining a residence permit changed: now those wishing to stay in Turkey must submit an application in electronic form on the website e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr. The period for receiving Ikamet is about 2-3 months from the moment of submitting the application. Periods of visa-free stay in Turkey for Russian and CIS citizens:
Citizens of Russia and Belarus can stay in Turkey for 60 days, for holders of diplomatic passports-90 days;
Citizens of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan has the right to stay in the country for 30 days;
Citizens of Tajikistan have the right to stay in Turkey for up to 30 days, holders of official passports - up to 60 days, holders of diplomatic certificates - up to 90 days, etc.
Uzbek citizens can stay in the Republic of Turkey for up to 30 days, and holders of diplomatic passports can stay for up to 90 days.
